A four-year player with the Beacons, Ty Lockard finished his career with 1,190 points making him the third all-time leading scorer on record, averaging over 16 points per game. He was a two-time team MVP as he led NCC to consecutive appearances in the National Small College Athletic Association championship tournament during his junior and senior years.
 
Lockard earned NSCAA All-America honors in 1995 after leading the Crusaders to a second-place finish at the national tournament. He averaged 21 points per game that season which still ranks sixth in NCU history. Then in 1996 he again earned All-America honors as NCC took fourth-place at the national championships.
 
Lockard is NCU’s all-time leader for steals (144) and he ranks in the top in eleven other career statistical categories. He was also the top free-throw shooter on the team during his freshman and sophomore seasons.
 
Lockard graduated from NCC in 1996 with a bachelor’s degree in youth ministry.
