Press Release

Dr. Jim Womack, President Emeritus, played two years for the Crusaders basketball team, earning a pair of All-Willamette Christian College Conference honors. He was a two-time All-star at the prestigious end-of-year George Fox Tournament. Womack returned to NCC in 1971 and spent two years as the head men's basketball coach, leading his team to a Pacific Northwest Collegiate Conference championship and a National Small College Athletic Association West Coast Regional Championship. Womack currently ranks fifth all-time for coaching wins at the school.

In 1986, Womack became the eighth president of Northwest Christian, where he served faithfully for 18 years. Under his leadership, the school built its current athletic facility, the Morse Event Center, which is known as one of the best sporting facilities in the Cascade Collegiate Conference. Womack retired in 2004.
