A steady forward trajectory for the Bushnell track & field programs continued this spring, a season that featured strong conference finishes, national qualifiers, All-Conference performances, and a host of school records.
Cascade Collegiate Conference
The men's track & field team tied for their highest-ever finish at the CCC Championships, placing sixth with 66 points. This was the program's highest finish in eight years. The women also enjoyed a strong championship performance, finishing eighth while recording their highest point total since 2020.

Leading the way at conference for the men was
Taylor Jackson, who captured the CCC Championship in the high jump to give Bushnell back-to-back champions in the event.
Kaleo Wellman (Long Jump) and
Ty Kishen (Triple Jump) also earned All-Conference honors for the Beacons.
On the women's side, freshman
Viktoriia Gabrio established what should become a very successful career with the Beacons as she took third-place in the Triple Jump to earn All-Conference honors. History was also made by the women's 4x400m relay team, which took third-place. The team of
Aniya Green,
Audrey Sommerville,
Lindsey Rankin, and
Sienna Lillebo claimed the first-ever All-Conference honors for a Bushnell women's relay team.
National Qualifiers
The strength of the Beacon track & field program was once again found in the jump events, which claimed all five NAIA national qualifications for the 2026 season. Wellman qualified for the Long Jump in both the indoor and outdoor seasons, Kishen qualified twice in the triple jump, and the duo was joined by
Jermaine Schexnayder who hit the qualifying standard in the outdoor triple jump.
School Records
Nowhere were the continued improvements in the program on display than in the record books as a total of 26 new school records were hit in the men's and women's indoor and outdoor seasons.
The biggest notable record-breaker is sophomore
Cyan Kelso-Reynolds who claimed three new standards. She broke the indoor 60m and long jump records, and went on to break a seven-year old school record in the outdoor 100m at the CCC Championships with a 12.38. Junior
Maxwell Al-Rubaie also broke three school records (indoor shot put, indoor weight throw, outdoor hammer throw) while senior
Leah Schiewe finished off her career by setting her school records in the indoor weight throw and outdoor hammer throw.
The oldest record to fall in 2026 was in the women's marathon as
Cadence Smith ran the Dallas Marathon in 3 hours, 32 minutes, and 13 seconds to topple a record which had stood for 17 years. For the men,
Hudson Gerlits broke a nine-year old record in the 110m Hurdles at the CCC Championship (15.61).
