Box Score OLYMPIA, Wash. – The Northwest Christian University volleyball team fell to Evergreen in four on Saturday night, 25-20, 27-25, 25-16, 25-13. The loss snapped NCU's six game CCC winning streak.

Evergreen (7-12, 4-9 CCC) compiled 59 kills in the match, swinging at a .210 clip on their way to the upset of the visiting Beacons. Their defense was stingy as well, scooping 88 digs while thwarting NCU's offensive efforts.

The Geoducks started slow, hitting just .043 in the first set. Set two saw 11 lead changes, with the home side coming out on top of the back and forth play, completely swinging the momentum in their favor. Evergreen rode the wave over the next two sets, closing the night with a .371 attack percentage in the final set.

Natalie Taylor led ESC with 12 kills and 14 digs. Sophomore Bethany Nelson also had 12 kills on the night, hitting .346. Lehualana Keka was the third Geoduck in double-digits, downing 10 kills while collecting four digs. Matalasi Laban had 46 assists on the night, most of any player on the court. Megan Breckenridge notched 21 digs, while Tori Wegdahl and Cheyenna Baird each had 19.

Maci Beierle had a big night for NCU (15-5, 10-5) with 32 assists and 18 digs. Freshman
Kasey Campbell led the Beacons attack, downing 11 kills.
Megan Van Marter put forth a well-rounded match with seven kills on .333 hitting, while also earning five blocks.
Claire Salness played well on both sides, gaining nine kills and 12 digs. Libero
Haley Damian had team-high 23 digs to go along with five assists.

Northwest Christian continues their three game road trip on Friday October 20th when they travel to Salem to face off with the No. 12 Corban Warriors at 7 p.m.
