SALEM, Ore. – After taking down Corban University with a sweep in early September, the Bushnell volleyball team felt a heavy dose of retribution on Wednesday night, falling to No. 5-ranked Corban University in straight sets, 25-21, 25-15, 25-22.
The Beacons (12-6, 7-4 CCC) fell a game behind Corban (15-5, 8-3) in the Cascade Conference standings after hitting .108. It was Bushnell's first match in over a year where they did not earn a service ace.
Head Coach
Jason Corwin said, "We lost the serve-pass game tonight. Corban was able to be in rhythm more often and it reflected in the number of hard-hit balls. We will need to shore up our passing game fast to get back on track in this conference."
The Beacons were led in defeat by
Amyah Semau, earning ten kills along with six digs.
Taya Blankenship added nine kills while
Carly Hanna had a solid match, earning three blocks and a team-high eight digs.
Corban was powered by All-American Emma Bishoff, securing a double-double with 12 kills and ten digs.
UP NEXT: Bushnell returns home on Saturday, looking to rebound as they take on Warner Pacific University (0-11, 0-10) at 4:00 pm.
