EUGENE, Ore. - Bushnell Athletics proudly announces Amyah Semau and Brielle Engle as the Papa Johns Players of the Week.

Semau, a senior on the Bushnell women's volleyball team, led the Beacons to a huge weekend sweep as they knocked off No. 17 Southern Oregon University on Friday and Oregon Tech on Saturday. Against Southern Oregon on Friday, Semau collected 12 kills and 12 digs and before the night was over she collected her 1000th career dig. She becomes the first player in Bushnell history to collect over 800 kills and 1000 digs in her career. On Saturday, she added 15 kills and 15 digs as the Beacons defeated the Owls.

Semau now sits at 865 career kills, which ranks seventh in school history. She needs to pass 930 to establish a new Bushnell career record. She also has 1016 digs which ranks eighth in school history and is the most ever for a Beacon pin hitter.   

Engle, a freshman on the Bushnell women's soccer team, scored two goals on Saturday as the Beacons upset RV Eastern Oregon University, 4-2. Bushnell trailed 1-0 at halftime but scored four times over the final 45 minutes to pull off their first win over the Mounties for the first time in ten years. Engle earned the Beacons first goal and went on to also account for the game-winner. She now leads the Beacons in scoring this season with three goals. 

As a Papa Johns Player of the Week, Semau and Engle will receive a free large pizza from Papa Johns.
