Women Add to CCC Roster in California and Oregon

AZUSA, Calif./PORTLAND, Ore.  – It was a split weekend for the Bushnell women's track & field team, competing in two different states and finding new CCC qualifications in each as the 2026 regular season rolled on.

BRIAN CLAY INVITATIONAL (Azusa Pacific University)

In California on Saturday, the Beacons finally earned their first Cascade Conference qualifier among the distance events as freshman Hailey Jackson punched her ticket in the 1500m. She ran a 4:46.94 to clear the standard by one second and improve her own personal record by two seconds.

The Brian Clay also featured a new school record for the Beacons as senior Leah Schiewe added nearly three feet to her own standard in the Hammer, which she set last season, posting a 39.60m (129-11) throw.

Many Beacons continue to improve week after week, leading up to the impending conference championships, including Cyan Kelso-Reynolds. The sophomore earned the third-fastest time in school history in the 100m, posting a 12.52, while also earning a season-best in the long jump at 5.34m (17-06.25).

Janaiya Miller also hit a new personal record in the Shot Put, hitting 11.77m (38-07.50), the 11th-longest throw in school history.

For the men, junior Maxwell Al-Rubaie broke his own standard for the second time this season, posting a 49.20m (161-05).

LARRY BYERLY INVITATIONAL (Lewis and Clark College)

Plenty of personal records were attained in Portland, chief among them a new CCC-qualifying time in the 400m for Lindsey Rankin (1:00.66). Rankin also posted a PR in the 200m, as did Sienna Lillebo, who ran a 26.69, inching closer to a conference standard.

The 100m featured PRs from Makayla Parrish (13.00), Lillebo (13.04) and Viktoriia Gabrio (13.56). Gabrio also earned a strong result in the triple jump, hitting a 10.93m (35-10.50) jump for a personal best as she took second-place in the 27-woman field.

Up Next: After a weekend off, the Beacons will return to action on May 1 and 2 as they will once again split between two meets, competing at the Oregon State High Performance meet and the Linfield Open.
