RESULTS | SALEM, Ore. – The Bushnell men's golf team held on to a share of fourth-place on Sunday, tying with CCC rival Lewis-Clark State College at the Willamette Valley Cup, hosted by Willamette University at Creekside Golf Club.
The Beacons combined to shoot a 288-285—573 over the weekend, posting the lowest two-round tournament score in history. They broke the previous record, set last season, by 18 strokes.
Leading the charge for Bushnell was
Matt Forsyth (pictured), who tied for third-place. After a one-over 72 on Saturday, the junior was three-under par on Sunday to finish at 72-68—140. He had five birdies on Sunday and finished five strokes off the lead.
Peyton Widenmann wasn't far behind at even-par, tying for ninth place (70-72—142) while
Jacob Holmes held a share of 29th (69-77—146).
Isaac Wells came though at 39th (78-70—148) while
Connor Cameron, playing as an individual, finished in 42nd (73-77—150).
Trison Hedges rounded out the Bushnell slate in 49th (77-75—152).
Linfield University won the tournament by two shots, scoring a 566 to hold off both Whitman College and Willamette University (568). Bushnell and LC State followed in fourth, while fellow CCC member Corban University took eighth (588).
