EUGENE, Ore. - Bushnell Athletics proudly announces
Lincoln Wiedenmann and
Aaron Lowry as the Papa Johns Players of the Week.
Wiedenmann, a freshman on the Bushnell men's golf team, earned all-tournament honors at the Rocky Mountain College Beartooth Invitational as he shot 75-71-72--218 to take fifth place. His one-under second round was a season best and he closed out his third round with back-to-back birdies on 17 and 18 to jump into the top five. The Beacons took third-place at the event.
Lowry, a junior on the men's soccer team, earned a pair of shutouts as Bushnell defeated Warner Pacific and Walla Walla Universities on the road. On Friday, Lowry made four saves in a 1-0 victory over Warner Pacific. It was Bushnell's first win over the Knights in nine years and the first-ever shutout recorded in the series. Then on Sunday he added three saves as Bushnell defeated Walla Walla University, 2-0.
As a Papa Johns Player of the Week, Semau and Engle will receive a free large pizza from Papa Johns.
