Wiedenmann Leads Beacons to Close Out Season

PORTLAND, Ore. – Freshman Peyton Wiedenmann closed his season on a high note on Wednesday, shooting a team tourney-best 74 in the final round of the of the Cascade Collegiate Conference Championship, taking place at Glendoveer Golf Club.
 
Wiedenmann (78-81-74—233) finished the tournament in 26th place to lead the Beacons, moving up six spots after Wednesday's final round.
 
Next for the Beacons was senior Ben Lovrod, who finished his Bushnell career with a 35th-place finish (75-78-87—240). He was followed closely by Jacob Holmes and Isaac Wells, tying for 36th place with matching 242's.
 
Wells had one of the highlights of the tournament late in the third round, scoring an Eagle on hole six, a 276-yard par-four. It was his second Eagle on the hole in as many days.
 
Also competing for the Beacons were Trison Hedges and Cody Adams. Hedges competed in the first two rounds, shooting an 80 and 83 respectively, while Adams subbed in for round three, carding an 82.
 
The Beacons finished in ninth place in the tournament with a 315-314-321—950, coming in 18 shots behind Walla Walla University in eighth.  
 
The University of British Columbia (855) won the tournament, defeating Lewis-Clark State College by 16 strokes.
