Rocket League Advances to Round of 16

EUGENE, Ore.  –  Bushnell Rocket League advanced to the ECAC Round of 16 after their seventh consecutive victory on Wednesday evening.

TEAMFIGHT TACTICS (TFT)
Finals: 7th, 8th, 2nd, 5th, 2nd

Zack Claunch was placed into the top division (Division A) of competition. Every Monday, he played two matches, competing in an eight-way free-for-all format. The top 16 teams from each division advanced to the playoffs.

Claunch finished the regular season in second place, earning him a spot in the playoffs. He played three matches in the semi-finals, finishing second, second and third. That earned him a spot in the 8-person final.

The format of the finals was a checkmate format meaning once a player reached 17 points, they were in 'check' and had to win a match to be crowned the winner. Claunch had a slow start in the finals and would have been in check after game five, but the winner was crowned with a first in the fifth game.

FORTNITE
Semi-Finals: 14 points (45th)

Bushnell had three duos competing in the regular season for Fortnite. Nick McGowen and Nathan Farris sat in a comfortable spot to qualify for the playoffs from the start. Zack Claunch subbed in later in the season and the Beacons held a top-50 spot to qualify for the semi-finals.

McGowen and Claunch were unable to qualify for the finals, finishing 45th in the semis.

COLLEGE FOOTBALL
Playoffs Round One: Brewton-Parker College 2, Bushnell 0

Caden Hoerauf advanced to the postseason in his first season with the Beacons after surviving a double-elimination play-in bracket. He was matched up with a tough first round opponent, falling in two to Brewton-Parker College to end his spring season.

ROCKET LEAGUE
Playoffs Round of 32: Bushnell 4, Ohio Northern 2 (5-2, 5-1, 1-5, 3-4, 2-1, 4-3)

Isaac Wagner, Brec Feehan and Kyle Foss are competing in Division A, the second highest level of competition in the ECAC. They played a six-game regular season, playing a best-of-seven series each week. The top 4 teams from each group advanced to the playoffs.

The Beacons remained undefeated with their seventh consecutive victory on Wednesday. They entered the playoff tournament as the No. 4 overall seed, defeating the No. 29-seeded Ohio Northern University in Round of 32.

Bushnell takes on Juniata College (No. 13) on Wednesday, April 2 at 5 p.m.
