Beacons Advance to Postseason in Three Titles

EUGENE, Ore.  –  Bushnell Esports competed in the final week of the regular season in FIFA, Fortnite, College Football and Rocket League.
 
The Beacons advanced to the postseason in three titles: FIFA, College Football and Rocket League.

With five wins during the regular season, Andrew Bennett (5-2) has earned himself an automatic qualification to the first round of the playoffs. He will be assigned an opponent next week and will play his first-round match on Monday, March 30 at 5:00 p.m.
 
FORTNITE

Fortnite competed in a seven-week duos regular season, playing three matches every Tuesday and Thursday at 5:00 p.m. Points were earned based on placement and eliminations. At the end of the regular season, the top 25 teams with the most points over the seven weeks moved to Finals. The teams in places 26th-75th moved into the Semi-Finals where the top 25 will move to the Finals.
 
The duos competing for the Beacons are Nathan Farris/Nick McGowen (Zero Build) and Trent Parks/Shawn Petty (Build).  
 
Week 6: McGowen/Farris (68 points, 19th)
Week 6: Parks/Petty (2 points, 66th)
Week 7: McGowen/Farris (116 points, TBD)
Week 7: Parks/Petty (50 points, TBD)
 
McGowen/Farris have earned an automatic qualification to the Finals, taking place in two weeks, while Parks/Petty will likely be playing in the Semifinals next week. Both leaderboards from week seven will be available shortly.

In a must-win match, Caden Hoerauf (4-3) came out on top to advance to the play-in tournament, taking place on Wednesday, March 25. Mason Monrroy's (3-4) season came to a close after a loss in week seven.
 
ROCKET LEAGUE
Sacramento State 4, Bushnell 1 (2-4, 4-1, 3-2, 3-2, 4-1)
 
Rocket League competed in the National Esports Collegiate Conference (NECC) this semester and was placed in Division III: West-Central A.
 
Bushnell (0-7) ended the spring season with a close loss to Sacramento State.
