THIS WEEK: Bushnell is set to close out the non-conference schedule with three home games, taking on a pair of NAIA foes from the California Pacific Conference and one from NCAA Division III.

LAST TIME OUT: The Bushnell women's soccer team is back in action after a two-week layoff. The Beacons opened the season with a three-game road trip to Southern California where they went 1-2. The Beacons ended on a substantial high note as they defeated Providence Christian College in their final game, 6-1.
Lanaeya Botelho scored two goals and added an assist to lead the way.

PACIFIC UNION: Bushnell will host the Pioneers on Friday afternoon with Pacific Union (0-3) still looking for their first win. After starting the season 0-2, the Pioneers picked up a 1-0 victory over Multnomah on Wednesday for their first win. Ryann Van Horn scored on a penalty kick in the 28th minute for the only score of the contest.Â

The Pioneers went 8-5-2 last season and took seventh-place in the California Pacific Conference. They boast a young roster with only six upperclassmen and nine underclassmen. They have been out-shot 41-19 and out-scored 10-1 on the season. Freshman Abigail Littleton has their lone goal of the season which came against Warner Pacific.

Bushnell is 1-1 in the all-time series with Pacific Union. The last time the teams faced off in Eugene, the Beacons won 2-1. Â

SIMPSON: The Beacons will take on Simpson in their penultimate non-conference game on Saturday. The Redhawks come in winless, having lost CCC foes Southern Oregon and Warner Pacific.

The Redhawks are coming off an 8-6-4 season in which they finished tied for fourth in the CalPac but missed the conference tournament on a tie-breaker. Simpson returns four All-Conference players from that team, including Defender Izabella Baez and Forward Chloe Tague who scored nine goals in 2023 and has their only goal so far this season. Â

Simpson holds a 6-4-1 lead in the all-time series with Bushnell and has won two straight meetings.

GEORGE FOX: The Bruins (1-0) opened up their season on Sunday, taking a 2-0 win over Multnomah University. They will also face Corban University on Friday before heading to Eugene next week.
Â
The Bruins took sixth-place in the Northwest Conference in 2023, going 6-9-5. They are led by senior defender Willa Evans, who is a two-time All-NWC selection, and senior Becca Kozak who led the team in goals and points last season.
Â
Bushnell is 0-5-1 all-time against the Bruins and have lost three straight meetings, dating back to the 2019 season.

LAST TIME OUT: The Beacons snagged their first win of the season on Sunday taking down Pacific University on the road, 3-1. Bushnell scored two second-half goals to pull away from a 1-1 tie at the intermission. Â

Danny Rojas scored a brace for the Beacons, giving him three goals in just two games this season.
Walter Reustle added the game-winning goal early in the second half.

CCC PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Junior transfer
William Haberfield was named the Cascade Conference Defensive Player of the Week on Monday after giving up just one goal and making three saves in the 3-1 win over Pacific.

PACIFIC UNION: Bushnell will host the Pioneers on Friday afternoon with Pacific Union (0-1) still looking for their first win. They opened their season at Multnomah on Wednesday, falling 5-0. PUC was out-shot 24-5 and did not create a single shot on goal.

The Pioneers went 5-7-4 last season and tied for eighth-place in the California Pacific Conference. The Pios are led by sophomore midfielder Mickyas Beyene, who was an All-CalPac Honorable Mention in 2023. Â

Bushnell is 3-1 in the all-time series with Pacific Union. The Beacons won the last meeting, 2-1 in 2022.

THIS WEEK: Bushnell will look to keep their five-match winning streak going as they travel to Portland to open up Cascade Collegiate Conference action against Multnomah and Warner Pacific. The Beacons will play their home opener next Tuesday, taking on Corban University.

LAST TIME OUT: The Bushnell breezed through the Oregon Trail Classic last weekend, sweeping 3-0 victories over four different NCAA Division III teams from the Northwest Conference.
Leah Agost earned All-Tournament honors for the Beacons.
RECORDS AND MILESTONES: Bushnell has now won 15 consecutive sets, tying the team's all-time record set back in 2017. Individually,
Bella Parque now has 943 digs on the season and is closing in on becoming just the sixth player in school history to hit the 1000-dig plateau.Â

CCC PLAYERS OF THE WEEK: JuniorÂ
Leah Agost has quickly assimilated to her new home on the right side of the Bushnell offense, and was named the CCC Attacker of the Week. Agost combined for 38 hits and a .427 hitting percentage. Against George Fox, Agost hit .455 with 12 kills, adding a career-high five blocks.

Redshirt Freshman
Kate Palelek was named the CCC Setter of the Week. Across four matches, Palelek helped guide the Bushnell offense to a .215 hitting percentage including a season-high .322 against Pacific. She averaged 5.75 assists per set, and posted her first career double-double against George Fox with 19 assists and 11 digs. She followed that up against Willamette with a season-high 21 assists.

MULTNOMAH: The Lions (0-4) began their season this weekend, also playing in the Oregon Trail Classic. Playing the same four opponents as the Beacons, Multnomah went 0-4 but took four sets including a 3-2 loss to Willamette.

The Lions are currently 10th in the CCC on offense, posting a .099 attack percentage. On defense they rank 11th, allowing opponents to hit .190 against them. Myckayla Shaver leads the defense and is ranked sixth in the CCC in blocking, averaging 1.2 blocks per set.

Bushnell holds a 27-1 record in the all-time series with Multnomah and have won ten straight matches without dropping a set. Â

WARNER PACIFIC: The Knights just played their first and only non-conference game of the season on Wednesday, falling to Linfield University at home, 3-0.

Last season, WPU went 2-27 and took 11th-place in the Cascade Conference. The Knights are returning Elizabeth Reid who led the team in kills with 184, Alyssa Asuncion who led the team in digs with 218, and Kyla Reiling who led the team in assists with 450.

Bushnell is 23-15 all-time against the Knights and have won ten straight matches. During the currently winning streak, the Beacons have dropped just three sets and have swept four straight matches over the past two seasons.

CORBAN: As expected, the Warriors are off to a strong start to the season, going 4-1 with victories over then-ranked No. 17 Viterbo, No. 20 Midland, and then-No. 11 Missouri Baptist. Their only loss came against No. 8 Bellevue in their season opener.

Corban has jumped from No. 12 to No. 9 in the latest NAIA coaches poll, giving the Cascade Conference three-teams in the top-ten. Eastern Oregon is No. 2 while Southern Oregon comes in at No. 5.

The Warriors are fifth in the CCC offensively (.164 hitting percentage) and lead the conference on defense with opponents hitting just .076. Corban is third in the CCC in blocking (2.64 blocks/set). Individually, Jadah Schmidtke leads the conference hitting .422 and Allyson Reid is third in the conference in blocks (1.39/s).
