Oregon Amateur Championship - Riverside Country Club

Men's Golf Nick Askew, Assistant Athletic Director for Communications

Past, Present, and Future Beacons to Compete in Oregon Amateur Championship

EUGENE, Ore. – When the 117th Oregon Amateur Championship begins on Monday, June 22, the Bushnell University men's golf program will be well represented with a combined total of six past, present, and future Beacons scheduled to compete.

"I am so excited for all of our athletes that have qualified for the Oregon Amateur Championship," said Director of Golf Nathan Wiedenmann. "Riverside Country Club will be a tough test for these guys and I am confident in their preparation. This provides our athletes an incredible opportunity to compete at a high level and also offers a platform to showcase Bushnell University and all that we represent."

A trio of current Beacons, Matt Forsyth, Connor Cameron, and Peyton Wiedenmann, earned their way with a top-15 finish at a qualifying event on June 6 at Tokatee Golf Course.

Forsyth and Cameron each shot a one-over 73 at the qualifier to tie for second place while Wiedenmann tied for 15th place with a 77.

That trio is joined by incoming Bushnell freshman Ryland Carroll of Lebanon, Oregon, who tied for sixth-place, shooting a 74. Carroll will join the Beacons next season out of Lebanon High School.

Also representing Bushnell will be a pair of alumni who are no strangers to the Oregon golf scene since their time at Bushnell. Cade Stubbs earned a tournament exemption as the 2025 Oregon Mid-Amateur Champion. Stubbs was also ranked in the top-ten on the OGA Men's Performance Points List for 2025. Calvin Green earned his exemption as an MPP top-50 performer, where he was ranked No. 15.

Stubbs, Green, and Forsyth all competed in the 116th Oregon Amateur Championship in 2025. Stubbs and Green advanced to the round of 64 while Forsyth missed the cut by one stroke. Forsyth and Green also played each other in the round of 32 back in 2024 with Green getting better of Forsyth, 3 & 2.

The tournament takes place at Riverside Golf and Country Club in Portland and runs from June 22-27. After two rounds of stroke play, the top 64 men advance to single-elimination stroke play. Live Results Here: 117th Oregon Amateur Championship Event :: Championship Details
