SALEM, Ore. – Jackson Muramoto,
Jada Richwine and
Elliot Wallace represented the Bushnell University golf team at the Willamette Valley Cup on Saturday and Sunday.
Â
Assistant Coach
Eric Moskalik said, "Jada learned a lot from yesterday and had a strong confident second day. I am really excited for how she is starting the spring season and I look forward to her future. Jackson and Elliot struggled to build momentum but battled hard making the field notice and respect their presence. They both really enjoy the course and competing against schools they don't see often."
Â
Muramoto dropped into a three-way tie for 11
th after shooting a 77 in round two. The senior finished with a line of 68-77—145 in the 83-competitor men's field.
Â
Muramoto said, "I started out the day with a 360 lip-out on hole 18 and really couldn't get much momentum going after that. It was a very slow day, but I was able to hang in there and place 11
th. I'm excited to compete in Redding next weekend."
Â
Wallace finished with an 84-85—169 to tie for 75
th.
Â
Richwine tied for 28
th in the 55-player women's field. The freshman posted a consistent 86-84—170, improving by two strokes in round two.
Â
Richwine said, "Today was another great day out on the course. The weather stayed warm and made the round very enjoyable. I played better today and gained control around the green."
Â
Up next, Bushnell travels to California to compete at the Simpson Spring Invitational on Sunday and Monday.
