BANDON, Ore. – The Bushnell men's golf team opened the spring season with a sweep over Skagit Valley College on day one of Bandon Crossing Match Play, a three-day event hosted by the Beacons.
Director of Golf
Larry Watts said, "Bushnell was fortunate to come out on top in all our matches. I was really proud of how Hayden and Elliot finished their match. Hopefully we will be ready for Simpson tomorrow."
DAY ONE:
Braeden Gardner / Billy DeJong
Jackson Findlay /
Ramsey Gordon (6 & 4)
Gordon: "After hole nine we were 1 up, then got hot and won five straight to win. We started making the clutch putts and were keeping the ball in front of us."
Alex Hochsprung / Gage Tenborg
Talon Larson /
Benjamin Lovrod (3 & 2)
Lovrod: "It was a back-and-forth day but we played some solid golf late in the match to finish it out. It was an enjoyable day on the course, and it was great to play with Skagit Valley."
Aidan Wyer / Zach Hansen
Hayden Lazeo /
Elliot Wallace (1 up)
Lazeo: "We started the front nine 4 up. Coming into the back nine our opponents took charge, but we fought hard and took the win."
Sam Johnston / Haiden Rasmussen
Jackson Muramoto /
Josh Neal (5 & 4)
Neal: "Moto and I started a little shaky, then had back-to-back birdies on four and five and never looked back. We slowly extended our lead until 12 where we lost to a birdie but rallied back and won with a tap-in par on 14."
