Jackson Muramoto carded a 4-under par 70 to lead the Bushnell University golf team to a second-place finish at the Battle at Bar Run, hosted by Southern Oregon.

A decision was made to turn the event into a single-round 18-hole tournament due to Monday's round being rained out midway through.

Larry Watts said, "What a difference one day can make. We are learning to be better at keeping the moment in the present. Jackson played well today, and our freshman Hayden hit the ball well, having his best finish in a college event. We are excited to be at Creekside in a few days."

Bushnell shot a 289 (+9) as a team, the fourth-best single-round score in school history.

Willamette University won the tournament with a one-round score of 275 (-5), 14 strokes ahead of the Beacons in second. Simpson University (290) and Multnomah (290) were one stroke back to finish in a tie for third. Southern Oregon (297) was fifth followed by Oregon Tech (301) in sixth.

Muramoto's 66 is the third-best round in school history by score, while the 4-under matches the fifth-lowest score to par as the Bar Run Golf Course is a par 70. The career-high mark resulted in a third-place finish for the junior.

Hayden Lazeo shot a career-best 69 (-1), boosted by an eagle on the fourth hole, to finish in sixth place. After opening the front-nine with two bogeys, the freshman posted two birdies and an eagle over the next four holes to make up four strokes.

Elliot Wallace carded a 74 (+4) to finish in a tie for 17
th, followed by
Josh Neal (80) in a tie for 32
nd and
Benjamin Lovrod (81) in a tie for 35
th.

Up next, Bushnell competes in the Willamette Valley Cup on March 18-19 at the Creekside Golf Club.
