WOMEN'S SOCCER

Bushnell (0-6) fell in its conference opener against Carroll College (Mont.) on Saturday. Abby Chambers scored her first collegiate goal in the first half and the Beacons maintained the advantage until the 50-minute mark. The Saints scored three goals within the next 20 minutes of play to take home the win.
 
Dejah Wallot leads the Beacons in scoring with two goals on the season. Blake Danna, Brooke Molina and Chambers have a goal apiece on the year. 
 
COLLEGE OF IDAHO: The Yotes (6-1, 2-0 CCC) are on the cusp of a Top-25 ranking after a strong start to their season. C of I is coming off a 5-0 win over Warner Pacific and a 6-0 victory over Multnomah to open conference play. The Yotes' only loss of the season came against Embry-Riddle (Ariz.), who is now ranked No. 18. Freshman forward Natasja Davis leads the team with five goals on the year, ranking her second in the CCC. Lily Schlake, a senior midfielder, has recorded four goals, scoring three last weekend.
 
The Yotes are 12-2 all-time against the Beacons and have won the last seven matchups.
 
EASTERN OREGON: The No. 21 Mountaineers are 5-1-1 overall and 2-0 in CCC action, having defeated Multnomah, 5-0, and Warner Pacific, 1-0. The only loss of the season for EOU came against Keiser University, who is now ranked No. 1 in the nation. The Mounties, who have outscored opponents 11-4, have eight different goal scorers entering the weekend, led by senior Erika Skindlov with three. Madeline Barker holds a 0.60 GAA with 21 saves.
 
The Mountaineers are 13-3 in the all-time series with the Beacons and have won the last four contests.

Bushnell (3-3-1, 1-1) began Cascade Collegiate Conference action last weekend and picked up three points as they knocked off Walla Walla, 2-1, before falling to Carroll by the same score.
 
STAT WATCH: Sophomore Caleb Burke has had quite a start to the season, scoring six goals through the Beacons first seven games. He is one goal away from tying the Bushnell single-season record with eleven Cascade Conference games remaining.
 
COLLEGE OF IDAHO: The Yotes are in a group of six CCC schools that split their opening weekend, falling to Warner Pacific University 3-1 before defeating Multnomah, 3-0. C of I has gone 3-1-1 since opening the season with two losses. They have out-scored their opponents 14-6 with five different players scoring at least two goals. Caio Pereira leads the offense thus far with seven points, scoring two goals and assisting on three others while Eric Hornung has a pair of game-winners in the early going. Tom Baynard-Smith has earned the bulk of the playing time between the pipes, holding a 1.00 goals against average with 11 saves and a pair of shutouts.
 
The Yotes are 18-4 all-time against the Beacons and have won three straight in the series.
 
EASTERN OREGON: The Mountaineers are also 1-1 so far in CCC action and sit at 4-2-1. They also defeated Multnomah, 3-0, and lost to Warner Pacific, 2-1. They have outscored their opponents 11-6 with Max Rose leading the team having scored three goals and an assist. Daulton Mauzay holds a 1.05 GAA with 17 saves and two shutouts.
 
EOU holds a 5-1 record in the all-time series with the Beacons, and won last season's matchup, 2-0.
 
 

VOLLEYBALL

Bushnell (9-6, 4-3 CCC) hit the road for the first time in CCC action last weekend and came away with a split, falling to Southern Oregon before beating Oregon Tech in a pair of five-set nail biters.    
 
This weekend they return home for another set of formidable opponents, taking on Northwest (8-7, 4-3) and Evergreen (6-4, 5-1).
 
MILESTONES AND RECORDS: On Friday, senior Halle Neumann became the 11th player in Bushnell history with 500 kills. Senior Makenna Northern continued to add to her legacy on Saturday as she recorded the 39th double-double of her career. She tied the Bushnell career record, which she now shares with another setter, Cori Wallace (2010-2013).
 
CCC PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Payton Jones was named the CCC Defensive Player of the Week on Monday, after a strong weekend at the net. After seven blocks against SOU, Jones did herself one better against OIT, tying school records for both block assists (9) and total blocks (10) in a match.
 
NORTHWEST: The Eagles are always a threat, and are currently tied with the Beacons for fifth-place in the CCC. They are above .500 and had a pair of five-set losses to NAIA Top-25 teams during the preseason. NU is currently seventh in the CCC on offense (.171 attack percentage) and sixth in defense (.149 against). They lead the CCC in service aces (2.14 per set) and are third in digs (16.5 per set).
 
Abi Broussard is not a player to be taken lightly, currently leading the conference with a .337 attack percentage. Broussard, Kelsey Moore, and Reece Denney are all in the top-ten in the conference in aces and Libero Kelsey Moore leads the conference with 5.73 digs per set.
 
The Eagles hold an 18-12 lead over the Beacons in the all-time series, but Bushnell has won four of the last five. Northwest did claim a five-set win in Eugene last season.
 
EVERGREEN: The Geoducks have won five-of-six to start out conference play with their lone loss coming against No. 17 Southern Oregon. They are currently ranked fourth in the conference on offense (.216 attack percentage) and seventh on defense (.157 against). They are second in the CCC in blocking, averaging 2.21 blocks per set.
 
Zoe Shaw has been a huge part of the offense and is the only player in the CCC currently scoring more than four kills per set. She is currently ranked No. 7 in the NAIA with 4.09. Another conference leader is setter Sierra Wolff, who averaged 7.79 assists per set to rank slightly ahead of Bushnell's Northern (7.66).
 
The Beacons own a 20-9 advantage in the all-time series with the Geoducks, and have won three straight meetings.
 

GOLF

September 26-27 at Multnomah Invitational
 
Bushnell prepares to compete in the second of three Cascade Collegiate Conference regular season tournaments on Monday and Tuesday. Multnomah University is set to host the event at the Elk Ridge Golf Course in Carson, Washington.
 
The Beacons are coming off a fifth-place finish at the College of Idaho Invitational, the first CCC regular season tournament. Bushnell finished fourth among conference opponents. Muramoto (73-71-73—217) placed fourth among CCC opponents, giving him top-10 placements in consecutive tournaments to open the season. Freshman Elliot Wallace (73-79-70—222) also impressed in his first-ever conference event, shooting 2-under 70 in the third round to finish in a tie for ninth among CCC opponents

Four teams are in action this week for Bushnell Esports with Valorant and Fortnite holding their season openers. Rocket League (1-0) enters their round two matchup after a dominant performance in their season opener. Overwatch competes in their second and final qualifier as Overwatch 1 nears its end.
