BANDON, Ore. – The Bushnell University men's golf team opened up the spring schedule on a high note, competing against three other schools in Match Play at the Bandon Crossings Golf Course.
The Beacons hosted Multnomah University, Skagit Valley College and Walla Walla University in the exhibition, which is not officially countable. Only stroke play is allowed for collegiate scoring.
Director of Golf
Larry Watts said, "It was a stunning comeback for the men's golf team. I am really proud of our men today. We fought hard and it was nice to see that hard work get some positive results."
Bushnell trailed Multnomah by 2 1/2 points entering the final day of play before winning all four matches over Walla Walla to earn the title. The Beacons had some help from Skagit Valley, who earned three points over Multnomah in round three to keep the Lions just a half point short in the final standings.
