EUGENE, Ore. – The Bushnell Esports League of Legends team remains in the hunt for a playoff spot after securing their third consecutive victory on Tuesday night to put them into a tie for fourth place in the West Conference.
The Overwatch team is also finding its rhythm after grabbing their second straight win on Monday night.
LEAGUE OF LEGENDS
League operates in a Swiss-style format, meaning opponents will be determined after each round of play with teams competing against another team with the same number of regular-season wins. Each match is a best-of-three games. At the end of the regular season, the top-eight teams from each conference will move on to the conference playoffs. The Beacons compete in the West Conference, which consists of 56 teams.
Bushnell 2, University of Silicon Valley 0
Bushnell improved to 3-1 after defeating the University of Silicon Valley on Tuesday night with their original starting lineup of Justin "Malstixy" Ault, Colton "sac de lait" Osten-Milbert, Drew "Zubdew" Lindley, Tyler "ShockMaster" Chase and Chad "RUBŸ" Vernon.
The final two matches for the Beacons will be critical as they look to maintain a top-eight spot in the West Conference. They are currently one of 14 teams tied for fourth and that field will be cut significantly next week as all the three-win teams face off. There are just three teams at the top with 4-0 records.
THe Beacons take on Western Washington University (3-1) in their fifth-round match, taking place on Tuesday, February 22 at 7 p.m.
