Rocket League and Valorant Advance to Divisional Championship

EUGENE, Ore. – Rocket League and Valorant earned Round of 4 wins to secure a spot in the National Association of Esports Varsity Plus West-Central Divisional Championship in two weeks.

The Divisional Championship is the final round of play in Varsity Plus as the winners of each regional division will not compete against one another for an outright title.

ROCKET LEAGUE
The Rocket League regular season consisted of six rounds of conference play. All matches were a best-of-five games. At the end of the Regular Season, six Rosters from each Division that had the best overall Records (W-L) advanced to the Playoffs.

The Divisional Playoffs consists of three rounds: Round of 6, Round of 4 and the Divisional Championship. All matches in the postseason are best-of-seven.

Round of 4: Bushnell 4, North Central 2 (2-1, 3-2, 5-2, 1-2, 3-4, 3-0)
The Beacons (6-1) earned the two-seed for the Divisional Playoffs after falling into a three-way tie with George Fox and North Central in the regular season standings. Following a bye in the first round of the playoffs, the Beacons battled NCU, taking the match in six.

Bushnell won the first three games of the series but North Central stayed alive by taking game four after nearly six minutes of overtime. The Beacons went down 4-1 in game five before scoring two within the final minute, but the Rams were bailed out as a final shot attempt hit the ground right at the goal line as time expired. Bushnell halted the NCU comeback with a 3-0 shutout in game six.

Lucas Fenton:  8 goals, 3 assists, 9 saves
Cole Vamos:  7 goals, 5 assists, 12 saves
Kyle Foss: 2 goals, 4 assists, 14 saves

Up next, Bushnell gets a second chance against top-seeded George Fox in the Divisional Championship on November 28. The Bruins were the only loss for the Beacons during the regular season.  

OVERWATCH 2
The Overwatch regular season consisted of seven rounds of conference play. All matches were a best-of-five games. At the end of the Regular Season, six Rosters from each Division that had the best overall Records (W-L) advanced to the Playoffs.

The Divisional Playoffs consists of three rounds: Round of 6, Round of 4 and the Divisional Championship.

Round of 6: Bushnell 3, Culver-Stockton 0 (2-0, 2-1, 2-1)
Round of 4: Saint Xavier 3, Bushnell 2 (0-2, 1-2, 3-2, 1-0, 2-0)
The Beacons (7-2) earned the three-seed for the Divisional Playoffs after finishing in a three-way tie with Lubbock Christian (1) and Saint Xavier (2) in the regular season standings. The tiebreaker came down to full season game differential.

Bushnell opened the playoffs with a sweep of Culver-Stockton in the Round of 6, winning on Ilios, King's Row and Watchpoint: Gibraltar. The fall season ended in tough fashion for the Beacons in the Round of 4 as they fell victim to a reverse sweep from Saint Xavier, a team who had swept them in the regular season matchup. Bushnell took the first two maps, Lijiang Tower and Eichenwalde, before SXU claimed three straight. Saint Xavier advances to the Divisional Championship, where they will face Lubbock Christian.

VALORANT
The Valorant regular season consisted of six rounds of conference play. All matches were a best-of-three games. At the end of the Regular Season, six Rosters from each Division that had the best overall Records (W-L) advanced to the Playoffs.

The Divisional Playoffs consists of three rounds: Round of 6, Round of 4 and the Divisional Championship.

Bushnell 2, George Fox 0 (16-14, 13-8)
The Beacons entered the Divisional Playoffs as the one-seed after holding the head-to-head tiebreaker over Kilgore College. Bushnell earned a first-round bye before taking on George Fox in the Round of 4.

Map 1: Ascent
The Beacons started on attack and went into the swap at 6-6. Map one was brought to 12-12 after another 6-6 split. Bushnell came away with the victory following six rounds of overtime. Cole Vamos led the Beacons with 40 eliminations on map one, while Colton Osten-Milbert added 26.

Map 2: Haven
Bushnell chose to start on defense on Haven, going down 7-5 at the swap. The Beacons took advantage of the attacker-sided map, using an 8-1 run to take the series. Vamos posted 24 eliminations in game two, Osten-Milbert finished with 20 and Kenyon Webster-Lorentzen secured 14.

Up next, Bushnell takes on Kilgore College on November 30 for the Divisional title.
