EUGENE, Ore. – Bushnell Esports competed in Fortnite, Rocket League and Valorant this week to continue the National Association of Collegiate Esports competition.
The Overwatch 2 and League of Legends teams open their seasons this week, competing on Tuesday and Thursday.
FORTNITE
The NACE Starleague Collegiate Series featuring Fortnite (Split 1) takes place over the course of four tournaments, three Regional Opens followed by the Collegiate Championship. During each regional qualifier, rosters are invited into custom lobbies to play four matches. Teams earn points based on placement and eliminations. The top-three finishers from each West qualifier earn a direct bid to the Collegiate Championship on October 15.Â
Bushnell – 3rd Â

Ethan Slayden won the first regional qualifier to earn an automatic bid to the Collegiate Championship. The duo followed that up with a third-place finish in the second qualifier, recording 77 points (68 placements, 9 eliminations) through four matches. The Beacons will compete in their final tune up on Sunday at noon.
ROCKET LEAGUE
The Rocket League regular season consists of six rounds of conference play. All matches are a best-of-five games. At the end of the Regular Season, six Rosters from each Division that have the best overall Records (W-L) will move on to the Playoffs.
Bushnell 3, North Central 1 (3-1, 2-3, 3-1, 3-0)
Bushnell (3-0) handed North Central University (2-1) its first loss of the season on Monday night. The Beacons won in four with the game two loss coming in overtime.
Cole Vamos: 7 goals, 3 assists
Kyle Foss: 4 goals, 3 assists
Lucas Fenton: 3 assists
The Beacons have a few bye weeks ahead of them before two matches scheduled on October 31. One of these matches will likely be moved to an earlier date. Â
VALORANT
The Valorant regular season consists of six rounds of conference play. All matches are a best-of-three games. At the end of the Regular Season, six Rosters from each Division that have the best overall Records (W-L) will move on to the Playoffs.
Lubbock Christian 2, Bushnell 0 (10-13, 11-13)
The Beacons (2-1) took their first loss of the season on Wednesday night, falling to Lubbock Christian University (2-1). Trailing 12-8, in the second game, the Beacons fought off three match points to make it 12-11 before LCU secured the final point. The match wasn't without controversy as LCU committed a rulebook violation by taking a second tactical timeout as Bushnell was making its comeback at the end of game two. The violation resulted in a post-game official warning.
