EUGENE, Ore. – Bushnell Esports completed an undefeated week with matches in Overwatch, Valorant and League of Legends. Fortnite wrapped up the regional qualifiers with a second-place result.
The Beacons improve to a combined 10-3 on the season.
FORTNITE
The NACE Starleague Collegiate Series featuring Fortnite (Split 1) takes place over the course of four tournaments, three Regional Opens followed by the Collegiate Championship. During each regional qualifier, rosters are invited into custom lobbies to play four matches. Teams earn points based on placement and eliminations. The top-three finishers from each West qualifier earn a direct bid to the Collegiate Championship on October 15.Â
Bushnell – 2nd
Christian Velazquez and
Ethan Slayden won the first regional qualifier to earn an automatic bid to the Collegiate Championship. The duo followed that up with a third-place finish in the following qualifier, before a second-place result in the third and final regional tournament. The Beacons enter the Collegiate Championship as the highest scoring team in the West Region.
VALORANT
The Valorant regular season consists of six rounds of conference play. All matches are a best-of-three games. At the end of the Regular Season, six Rosters from each Division that have the best overall Records (W-L) will move on to the Playoffs.
Bushnell 2, Alaska Fairbanks 0 (13-1, 13-2)
The Beacons (3-1) bounced back from a tough loss last week with a dominant win over the University of Alaska Fairbanks.
Brett Olmstead led the team with 39 eliminations, while
Colton Osten-Milbert added 32.

Up next, the Beacons take on Concordia University – St. Paul (3-1) on Wednesday, October 19 at 5:30 p.m. in what is expected to be a tight matchup.

The Overwatch regular season consists of seven rounds of conference play. All matches are a best-of-five games. At the end of the Regular Season, six Rosters from each Division that have the best overall Records (W-L) will move on to the Playoffs.

Since the schedule was announced last week, two teams have dropped out of the league, meaning the regular season was reduced to just four games for Bushnell. The Beacons claimed a win via forfeit to get the season started before taking down the University of Mississippi on Thursday. The starting lineup consisted of
