EUGENE, Ore. – The Bushnell University women's track & field team closed out the season-opening Lane Community College Icebreaker on Saturday.

After collecting three CCC qualifications on Friday, the Beacons were held without on Saturday, but the day was not lacking in exciting results.

Freshman sprinter
Adrienne Mai (pictured) made her 200m debut and was the top collegiate finisher, coming in at 27.88 seconds. She also set her own time-to-beat for the 100m on Friday at 13.56 seconds.

Saturday also included the 5000m which featured six members of the cross country team. The Beacon distance squad used the race as a final tune-up for the XC conference championship in two weeks.
Tea Chatelain led the way for Bushnell, posting a time of 18:52.80 to take second place.

Director of Track
Tom Boldon said, "Tea looked really solid in her track debut today. She chopped down a large gap and almost won the race after trailing by 30-50 meters most of the race."

The women's 4x400m relay closed out the day with a squad of
Jordyn Edewards, Mai,
Mayah Pappas, and
Sarah Phillips coming in at 4:21.42.

Friday had seen three Beacons qualify for the conference championship including Phillips and
Mikayla Rodriguez in the high jump and
Skye Urban in the pole vault.

Next up for the Beacons will be the Southern Oregon Invitational next weekend.
