EUGENE, Ore. – The Bushnell Valorant team made the best out of their first ever post-season match, cruising to a 13-3, 13-5 win over the University of Montana in the first round of the NACE Championship Tournament.

In the first set, the teams seemed to be feeling each other out and after Bushnell jumped to an early 2-0 lead, Montana climbed to within 4-3. The Beacons however, won the final nine points to take the game. Highlighted in the streak was a clean shut-out to make it 6-3. Later, Dakota "Dakura" Kurahara was the last man standing against three Grizzly players, taking them all out for another point.

Bushnell again won the first two points in game two, but Montana rallied to tie the match for the first time with the next two points. The teams traded wins, with the Beacons holding a 7-5 advantage before closing out the game with six straight points.

The Beacons (4-1) advance to the second round and will take on Purdue University – Fort Wayne on Friday night, beginning at 5:00 pm. The Mastadons (5-0) ran the table in Group G and took down Mayville State in the opening round of the tournament. Fans will be back to catch the action live on Twitch.
