Bushnell Esports: Week in Review

EUGENE, Ore. – Valorant moved to 3-0 on the season to highlight the week in Esports competition, while the Beacon Rocket League and Overwatch squads each came away with splits.

ROCKET LEAGUE

The Beacons moved to 5-3 on the season after pulling out a split on Tuesday night. First up was a very familiar foe, as the Bushnell team took down the Bushnell JV squad, 3-0.

That was followed with a hotly contested match up with the University of Montana "Silver" team, which the Grizzles took with a 3-2 victory (0-3, 4-1, 1-2, 3-1, 0-2). Preston "PrestoMagic" Clark said, "We fought our way all the way to game five against a good team but in the end we were not able to get the win. We know what we need to fix and we are excited to play Montana's second team later in the season."

Cole "Crow" Vamos led the team, scoring four goals on eight shots, adding an assist and seven saves. Clark scored three goals and had ten saves while Dakota "DakKura" Kurahara led the defense with 12 saves, adding a goal and two assists.

This week the team closes out the regular season. The will take on North Dakota State College of Science on Tuesday at 6:15 pm and then face off against the Montana "Maroon" team on Friday at 5:00 pm.

OVERWATCH

Overwatch also claimed a split and moved to 4-3 on the season.  The Beacons fell to the Boise State second-team on Monday, 3-0 and rebounded on Thursday with a 3-1 win over Colorado College.

Bushnell has a busy week ahead as they close out the regular season. On Monday night they face Marian University, on Thursday they take on the Jamestown varsity team and on Friday they face the University of Montana. All three matches take place at 5:00 pm.

VALORANT

Bushnell put together another dominant performance on Wednesday night, taking down Dickinson State College, 2-0 (13-0, 13-1). For the second week in a row, DakKura was named the Player of the Game for the Beacons.

The 3-0 Beacons will be back in action next Wednesday, taking on Boise State to close out the regular season.
