Beacon Men Tie for Fourth

OREGON CITY, Ore. – The Northwest Christian University men's golf team finished in a tie for fourth among Cascade Collegiate Conference schools and seventh overall at the Warner Pacific Invitational, taking place at Stone Creek Golf Course.

The Beacons shot a three-round total of 944, hitting a low of 307 in the second round as they shaved 20 strokes off of their team total from the Oregon Tech Spring Invite last month.

Corban won the tournament with a five-over par score of 869, defeating Oregon Tech by two strokes. College of Idaho was third (896) while the Beacons tied with host Warner Pacific for fourth.

Josh Goins once again led the way for the Beacons, finishing in 13th place with a three-round total of 222, six-over par. Among CCC golfers he was tenth and currently sits second among conference golfers in stroke average heading into the final tournament of the season.

Also golfing for the Beacons were Levi Dean in 22nd (230), Jack Singleton in 46th (245) and Paul Smoot in 48th (247).

NCU will return to compete in the CCC Championship on April 23-24 at Pronghorn Resort in Bend, Oregon. Goins goes into the event as the two-time defending CCC championship medalist and he is currently just two strokes behind The College of Idaho's Chris Carew in the race for the CCC Player of the Year prize.
