SALEM, Ore. and SANTA BARBARA, Calif. – Sophomore
Christy Seaton (pictured) beat a school record on Saturday, leading the NCU women's track & field team as they competed at a pair of events.
Â
Seaton took third place in the 100m Hurdles at the Willamette Invitational, posting a 15.25. She eclipsed the previous school record (Shaneesa Applegate, 2015) by 7/100ths of a second while posting the fastest time in the Cascade Collegiate Conference this season.
Â
Sophomore
Myah Harter added a second event to her conference qualifications, throwing a 10.94m in the shot put as she came within inches of her own school record.
Â
Another CCC-best time came from
Melissa Rios in the 5000m run, claiming a 19:30.06.
Â
NCU was also represented at the Westmont College Classic where
Bailey Dell cruised to a 21-foot victory in the javelin. Her mark of 44.57m didn't quite hit her season high but was still better than any other thrower in the NAIA this season.
