SALEM, Ore. – After starting off the tournament with his lowest collegiate round, freshman Levi Dean ended the Corban Invitational with a team-best three round total, good for 15th place as he led the Beacons to a seventh-place team finish at Creekside Golf Course. 
 
Dean finished the event with a 231. Tied for the lead after the first round and sitting at two-under-par during the early second round, He closed out the event with an 82 and 78. Dean was followed in 21st place by Josh Goins who also had a 71, his in the second round. Goins shot a 235.
 
Cody Gardner was 37th (77—89-78=244), Paul Smoot took 41st (86-83-79=248) and Tristan Ivie claimed 50th place for the Beacons (89-83-85=257).
 
Also competing as an individual for the Beacons, and not contributing to the team score, was sophomore Austin Dame, shooting a 237 to take 24th place.
 
The Beacons combined to score a 952 for their seventh place finish. At one point early on the team sat just four shots off the lead after 16 holes. The also closed the event with a 313 in the third round as all four scoring golfers shot in the 70's.
 
Interim Head Coach Tyler Falk said, "This is the toughest event on our schedule and it was an awesome moment to see them rally for those 70's in the final round. I can tell that their responses to setbacks and challenges have changed. They modeled perseverance more than ever before. These guys are young and if they keep working and don't lose sight of what is possible, they will have a chance at serious contention in years to come."
 
The University of Victoria won the overall event with an 882, followed by Oregon Tech in second with an 896. The Owls won the Cascade Conference portion of the event to clinch the CCC regular season title.
 
NCU will close out the 2015-2016 season in two weeks, competing in the CCC Championship tournament at Eagle Point Golf Course.
