KLAMATH FALLS, Ore. - The Northwest Christian University men's golf team opened up the Cascade Collegiate Conference schedule on Monday and Tuesday, taking eighth place in the Oregon Tech Invitational.
Sam Mar finished 10th individually to lead the Beacons.Â
NCU did not complete the third and final round with a team score on Tuesday as one golfer needed to pull out with an injury. The Beacons were fifth among CCC teams.Â
Sam Mar led the way for the Beacons with a solid three-round 224 (76-73-75) which was good for tenth-place among individuals.Â
Concordia University ran away with the team title, scoring an 854 to defeat second-place Corban by 39 strokes. Corban did, however, field the individual medalist as Kade Crossland scored a nine-under par 207 to defeat a pair of CU golfers by two strokes.Â
Also golfing for the Beacons were
Austin Dame (38th, 263) and
Jack Hackman (pictured, 41st, 276). Junior
Cody Gardner had to withdraw due to an injury part way through his third round after shooting an 82-76 during the first two rounds on Monday.Â
The Beacons will be back in action next weekend, competing in the Border War at Centennial Golf Club in Medford beginning on Sunday, September 28.Â
