SPRINGFIELD, Ore. – Senior
Tyler Falk won his second consecutive tournament on Tuesday, claiming a two-shot victory at the Northwest Christian University Invitational at Springfield Country Club. Falk also won the NCU Invite as a junior.
Falk was one of three Beacons to finish in the top-20 individually, leading NCU to a second-place team finish. NCU scored a 906 combined tournament score to finish 36 shots behind Concordia University for the team championship. The Cavaliers clinched the CCC regular-season championship with the victory.
In third-place was Walla Walla Community College (914), followed by Corban (923) in fourth and Warner Pacific (948) in fifth.
Falk won the event by two strokes with a two-under 214 for his three rounds (72-70-72). Concordia occupied the rest of the top-five with Kolton Kyne in second (72-71-73=216) followed by Jesse Heinly (74-69-77=220) and Josh Vizcaino (71-74-75=220) in a tie for fourth. Playing as an individual, Tanner Maahs claimed fifth (71-75-75=221).
James Demopoulos took 12th place for the Beacons, shooting a 74-78-77=229.
Calvin Green was part of a three-way tie for 16th place (76-77-79=232).
Sam Mar finished 26th (240) followed by
Cody Gardner in 30th (245).
Playing as individuals,
Crosby Green (252) took 37th place and
Jonathan Porter (274) finished in 42nd.
NCU will return to action in two weeks, playing in the CCC Championship Tournament, hosted by The College of Idaho at River Bend Golf Course in Wilder, Idaho.
