Records and Conference Marks Abound

RESULTS: OREGON STATE | LINFIELD

CORVALLIS, Ore.  – Just call them the "Peakin' Beacons" as the Bushnell men's track & field team is hitting their stride at the right time. With just one week remaining before the CCC Championships, the Beacons claimed three new conference qualifying marks and saw three school records broken as they competed at the Oregon State High Performance meet and the Linfield Open.

Leading the charge for the Beacons at Oregon State on Saturday was Ty Kishen. The senior took second-place in the Triple Jump, doing so in school-record breaking fashion as he landed a 14.90m (48-10.75), another NAIA "B" standard qualifying mark.

Kishen cleared the previous school-record mark of 14.89m, which was set by teammate Jermaine Schexnayder in 2024. Schexnayder himself added his name to the NAIA qualifying list with a "B" standard of his own, posting a season-best mark of 14.63m (48-00.00).

OSU featured another school record on Friday when Maxwell Al-Rubaie topped his own mark in the hammer, landing a best toss of 49.94m (163-10).

The final school record was claimed by senior Brett Olmstead (pictured) in the Pole Vault at Linfield as he cleared a 4.68m (15-04.25), taking down the previous record of 4.65m set by Michael Andrews in 2019.

Saturday at Linfield was a limited operation for the Beacons, but along with Olmstead also featured a strong career-best Shot Put performance for Brodie Riscili, who landed a 13.74m (45-01.00), for the third-best throw in school history.

On Friday, the men's team found two new tickets punched for the conference championship with both coming in the 200m at OSU. Malachi Larson (pictured) ran a new PR of 22.22 to earn his spot, while Kainoa Harwood wasn't far behind at 22.43, also a personal best.

On Saturday, it was the 100m team who took centerstage as the Beacons combined for six new season or personal records. Chief among them was late-season bloomer Trenton Battle, adding his third CCC qualification with a time of 10.97.

A final highlight from the weekend came on Friday in Corvallis as junior Kaleo Wellman who posted a 7.36m (24-01.75) in the long jump, another NAIA "B" standard distance for the national qualifier.

Up Next: The largest contingent in school history is slated to hit the road next weekend for the Cascade Collegiate Conference championships, beginning on Friday in La Grande, Oregon, hosted by Eastern Oregon University.
