MONMOUTH, Ore. - A rain-soak weekend made it difficult on the Beacons as they competed at the Western Oregon University John Knight Twilight, but three Beacons were still able to add CCC qualifiers.
On Friday, a pair of men joined the field for the 400-meter hurdles.
Jaden Rok (pictured) ran a 1:01.53 while
Wyatt Pepiot crossed the finish line in 1:01.70, both clearing the CCC standard for the first time this season.
Then on Saturday, it was
Elliot Nofziger (pictured) who punched his ticket in the high jump, clearing 1.80m (5-10.75) to become the fourth Beacon high jumper to qualifier. Already a qualifier, junior
Jermaine Schexnayder also hit a season-best in the event and took second-place, jumping 2.00m (6-06.75).
Friday's competition also featured a strong performance from
Ty Kishen, who won the men's Triple-Jump competition with a 14.53m (47-08.00), winning by more than 16 inches over a jumper from Western Oregon.
Up Next: Next week is a big one for the Beacons, who will send a number of elite athletes to Southern California as they will compete in the Brian Clay Invitational at Azusa Pacific University. Bushnell will also be competing at the Larry Byerly Invitational hosted by Lewis & Clark in Portland.
