MONMOUTH, Ore. – A weather-shortened first day of the Western Oregon University John Knight Twilight took place on Friday with a number of strong Beacon performances.
Three new Cascade Conference qualifications were earned, led by a pair of men in the 400-meter hurdles.
Jaden Rok (pictured) ran a 1:01.53 while
Wyatt Pepiot crossed the finish line in 1:01.70, both clearing the CCC standard for the first time this season.
For the women, it was Makayla Parrish (pictured) who became the sixth Bushnell woman to qualify for the CCC Triple Jump, posting a season-best time of 9.68 meters (31-09.25), just two CM off of her personal best. The event also featured new PRs for
Aliyah Malone (10.71m) and
Viktoriia Gabrio (10.55m).
Among other personal bests on Friday were
Kainoa Harwood (23.16),
Sienna Lillebo (26.85) and
Audrey Sommerville (27.75) in the 200m, and
Terren Crabb (52.45m/172-01) and
Madison Goodell (27.44m/91-00) in the javelin.
Closing out the night before lighting put a stop to the proceedings was
Ty Kishen, who won the men's Triple-Jump competition with a 14.53m (47-08.00), winning by more than 16 inches over a jumper from Western Oregon.
Up Next: Friday's delayed events will take place on Saturday along with the regularly schedule competition.
