EUGENE, Ore.  – Junior Kaleo Wellman was named the Cascade Collegiate Conference McDonalds Men's Indoor Field Athlete of the Week as Presented by Urban Edge Network, announced by the CCC office on Monday. This is his second such honor of the season.
 
Wellman won the Long Jump at the Whitworth Invitational on Saturday by over 13 inches and posted the third-longest jump in school history with a 7.27m leap (23-10.25). He defeated a field of 27 competitors, and cleared the NAIA's "A" standard for the second time.
 
Wellman is the top-rated long jumper in the CCC and now sits at No. 11 on the NAIA performance list.
 
This is Wellman's fourth CCC weekly award after earning Outdoor Field Athlete of the Week twice as a sophomore and twice this season.
 
UP NEXT: The Beacons will close out the indoor regular season next Saturday, competing at the George Fox Invitational in Newberg. Wellman will also head to the NAIA National Championship on March 5.
