CCC McDONALD'S PLAYERS OF THE WEEK
EUGENE, Ore. – Bushnell senior
Cory Johnson has been named the Cascade Collegiate Conference McDonald's Men's Basketball Defensive Player of the Week, presented by Urban Edge Network.
Johnson posted a pair of double-doubles as Bushnell won both of their CCC home games last weekend against The Evergreen State College and Northwest University. He averaged 10.5 defensive rebounds per game.
In the 104-80 win against Evergreen, Johnson pulled down 15 rebounds including 11 defensive boards, adding two steals. He also scored 23 points and had six assists.
In the 76-64 win against Northwest, he collected ten rebounds, all on the defensive end, and added a block as Bushnell held the Eagles to just 36% shooting. He also scored 24 points for the Beacons.
Johnson is the first Beacon to pick up a Men's Basketball Player of the Week honor this season. He was also the CCC Offensive Player of the Week on February 24, 2025.
UP NEXT: The Beacons will remain at home next weekend and have a big game scheduled for Friday at 2:00 pm as they will take on Lewis-Clark State (10-4, 4-2).
