EUGENE, Ore. –
Kailey Shirley was named the Cascade Conference McDonald's Volleyball Defensive Player of the Week, presented by Urban Edge Network, as announced by the CCC offices on Monday.
The Beacons (9-5, 3-1 CCC) went 2-0 at home over the weekend with a sweep of The Evergreen State College followed by a four-set win over (RV) Northwest University.
Shirley collected 30 digs across two matches, earning 12 against the Geoducks before picking up 18 against the Eagles.
The sophomore transfer from Multnomah University has made an immediate impact on the Beacon's back row, leading Bushnell and ranking second in the Cascade Conference with 174 total digs.
UP NEXT: The Beacons will be on the road over the next two weeks and will have a tough task ahead, paying a visit to the NAIA's No. 1 ranked Eastern Oregon University on Friday and No. 10-ranked College of Idaho on Saturday.
