ASHLAND, Ore. – The Bushnell women's track & field team opened up the CCC Championships on Friday, led by a fourth-place finish in the women's 4x100m relay.
The Beacon team of
Cyan Kelso-Reynolds,
Maddii Desemone,
Kira Dennison and
Lindsey Rankin (pictured) posted the 6th-fastest time in school history at 49.49, missing out on an All-Conference finish by just over one second.
Kelso-Reynolds was also responsible for Bushnell's other three points as she took a sixth-place finish in the long jump at 5.43m (17-09.75). She was joined in the finals by
Macayla Parrish, who earned her way in with a career-best mark of 5.20m in the prelims, taking ninth place after being seeded 12th.
Also making her mark on the day one festivities was junior
Leah Schiewe, breaking her own school record in the hammer throw with a toss of 38.78m (127-02).
With eight points scored, the Beacons currently sit in tenth place.
NEXT: It will be a busy Saturday to close out the CCC Championships with seven women in action, along with the 4x400 relay, looking to follow in the footsteps of the sprinters.
