Beacon Women Claim 19 Personal Records at John Knight

COMPLETE RESULTS

MONMOUTH, Ore. – Bushnell collected 19 personal records over the weekend at the John Knight Twilight and saw one new school record as they competed at Western Oregon University.

Junior Leah Schiewe etched her name into the record books on Friday, breaking a seven-year old school record in the Hammer throw, and earning her third CCC qualification in the process at the John Knight Twilight, hosted by Western Oregon University.

With a toss of 37.31 meters (122-05), Schiewe toppled the previous record held, which had been held by Bailey Dell for the past seven years. The junior, who now holds the school record in both the hammer and discus, has qualified for the Cascade Collegiate Conference championships in the hammer, discus, and shot put.

The limited Friday action at the John Knight twilight also included a trio of personal records, including freshman Matilyn Richardson in the hammer (31.53m), Sidney Lane in the 1500m (5:29.51), and Mariah Anderson in the 3000m Steeplechase (13:17.21).

Saturday's action saw 15 more personal records across all disciplines.

Freshman Cyan Kelso-Reynolds continued her strong debut season, earning three new personal records, improving her CCC qualification in the long jump as she took second-place at 5.45 meters (17-10.75). She also bettered her team-leading times in the 100m (12.66) and the 200m (26.71).

Macayla Parrish and Kira Dennison continued their own upward climb in the sprints with better 100m and 200m times and Lindsey Rankin (pictured) posted a new PR in the 200m.

The 400m even saw Kyra Quinn hit a personal record, while Karlee Myers, Sidney Lane, and Mariah Anderson also claimed new bests in the 800m run.

The triple jump featured new PRs from senior Trinity Hazelitt (9.02m) and freshman Ruby Lane (9.18m).
