INDEPENDENCE, Ore. – The Bushnell women's cross country team got a look at the course for the upcoming CCC championships on Saturday as they competed at Oak Knoll Golf Course at the George Oja Invitational, hosted by Linfield University. Every Bushnell runner either broke or set a new 6000-meter Personal Record at the event.

In what should prove to be the biggest race of the season for the Beacons, 352 women competed in the event as Bushnell took 22nd-place. The ladies were sixth among schools from the Cascade Conference.

"It was a really competitive day, and a huge field, and I am super proud of how the women ran today," said head coach
Kyle Will.

Sophomore
Cadence Smith led the way for the Beacons with another personal record, taking 75th place with a time of 22:39.60. It was the eighth-fastest time in school history.

Just a minute later, freshman
Hailey Jackson posted the 19th-fastest time in school history at 23:36.60, taking 129th place.
Alyssa Clark was close behind in 194th (24:28.30).

Also breaking their PRs were
Jordan Lauinger (245th, 25:28.40),
Sidney Lane (250th, 25:30.50), and
Annika Kimball (253rd, 25:31.90). For Kimball it was an 80-second personal best. First-time 6000m runs were completed by
Sienna Lillebo (26:30.20),
Karlee Myers (26:47.70), and
Ava Adams (28:02.60).

Up Next: The Beacons have just a six-day layoff before their first and only home meet of the year next Friday. The Beacons will host the Bushnell Invitational at Pine Ridge Golf Course, with the gun scheduled to go off at 2:15 pm. Â Â Â
