EUGENE, Ore.  – The Bushnell women's track & field team wrapped up the 2024 Cascade Collegiate Conference Championships on Saturday with a trio of senior personal records leading the way.

Bushnell finished ninth in the CCC Championship with 13 points, and jumped into a ninth-place tie in the final event as they claimed an eighth-place finish in the 4x400m relay as
Mayah Pappas, Cook,
Sierra Janikowski, and
Adrienne Mai added the final point.

Also on Saturday,
Maddii Desemone finished off the year with a new season-best in the 100m, hitting 12.67 seconds for the second fastest run of her career and the tenth best time in school history.

The Beacons had scored 12 points on the opening day of the two-day event, led by five points from Cook, courtesy of a fourth-place finish in the 3000-meter Steeplechase, the highest finish of her career. She crossed the finish line in 11 minutes, 42.68 seconds.

In the Long Jump, Pappas capped off her career with a fifth-place finish. She saved her best jump for last, landing a 5.48m (17'11.75"), the seventh-longest jump in school history.

The final points came courtesy of the 4x100m relay team of Mai, freshman
Macayla Parrish, Desemone, and Janikowski. The group ran a season-best time of 49.15 seconds.

Janikowski also ran her final 100-meter hurdle event and finished with a season-best time of 16.17.

Capping off her season with a huge PR was sophomore
Leah Schiewe in the discus, hitting a mark of 36.54 meters (119'10"). She missed out on scoring for the Beacons by just two inches, but she added more than five-and-a-half feet to her previous best, setting the tone for what should be a strong back half of her career with the Beacons.

The season is mostly in the rear-view mirror for the Beacons, save for a trip to the NAIA National Championships for
Kaitlin Cook who will compete in the 3000m Steeplechase, May 22-24.
