COMPLETE RESULTS | EUGENE, Ore.  – The Bushnell women's track & field team earned six Cascade Conference qualifications on Saturday in their first opportunity to do so, and added 12 personal records at the LCC Open, hosted by Lane Community College.   
 
Director of Track & Field Kyle Will said, "We had outstanding efforts all around today. Given where we are in the season, and what we still have to come, I am very impressed and excited for some good things to come this season."
 
Senior Sierra Janikowski (pictured) led the way for the Beacons as a double-qualifier for conference in both the 100m Hurdles and 400m Hurdles, claiming top-five finishes in each event. Her 16.35 in the 100h was good for fourth-place while she took fifth in the 400h at 1:11.20.
 
School-record holder Mayah Pappas got her long jump season off to a strong start, taking third place and qualifying for CCC at 5.44m/17'10.25"), the fourth-longest jump in school history and second best of her career. Makayla Parrish also qualified for CCC in the long jump with a leap of 5.03 meters (16 feet, 6 inches).
 
Two throwers also got in on the qualification action. Libby Mathis won the shot put competition by ten inches, tossing 11.16 meters (36'7.5"). In the discus, Leah Schiewe qualified with a throw of 32.61m/107'0", taking sixth-place.
 
The outdoor season rolls on next weekend as the Beacons head to Portland for the Lewis and Clark Spring Break Open on Friday and Saturday.
