Beacons Spread the Wealth Against Evergreen

EUGENE, Ore. – Bushnell had six players in double figures and scored 59 points off the bench on Friday night, knocking off The Evergreen State College in their CCC home opener, 103-59.

The Beacons (7-5, 4-2 CCC) led by just two points with five minutes remaining in the first half before going on a 17-0 run to end the frame and put the game away early. Bushnell shot 51% from the field and hit 14 three-pointers while holding Evergreen (1-10, 0-6) to 34% shooting including a 7-for-26 night from three-point range.

Head Coach Eddie Alexander said, "It was a great game for us to get the rust shaken off after a three-week layoff, and really nice to be home after 56 days since our last game in the Morse Center. I was proud of the guys and the way they came out and played defense, especially in the last eight minutes of the first half. We executed several of the things we have been working on during this break."

Leading the way for the Bushnell offense was Tony Frohlich-Fair, coming off the bench to score 18 points, adding eight rebounds and five assists. Luke Smith also had a big day in a reserve role with 15 points, hitting four three-pointers.

Stevie Schlabach scored 14 points while Trevon Richman posted 12. Kaleb Burnett (pictured) added 11 points, as did Kaden Sand, who also secured a double-double with a game-high ten rebounds. The Beacons finished the night out-rebounding the Geoducks, 60-27 with 18 offensive boards.

Evergreen was led by Mubarak Michael, coming off the bench to score 17 points.

The Beacons will be back in action on Saturday at 5:00 pm, playing host to Northwest University.
