EUGENE, Ore. – The Bushnell men's basketball team picked up their fifth 100-point game of the season, knocking off Warner Pacific on Saturday evening, 111-86.
Â
After some early back-and-fourth, the Beacons (11-9, 8-6 CCC) emerged with a solid lead late in the first half and never looked back, shooting 54% from the field including a 13-for-26 mark from three-point range. Bushnell out-rebounded the Knights (2-17, 0-14), 45-27 and added an 82% free-throw percentage.

Head Coach
Eddie Alexander said, "It was a very important home sweep for us. Guys kept clicking and we ran the floor very well.
Stevie Schlabach had a great weekend and
Cory Johnson shot extremely well off the bench. He and
Luke Smith have really locked in this week and it shows. Great games by Alexis and
Trevon Richmond and the way they lead our team."
Â
The second half didn't prove to be too much of a contest as the Beacons continued to pull away. Head Coach
Eddie Alexander said, "It was a great bounce-back game for our guys as we've been fighting through adversity and a four-game losing streak. I am proud of the way we refocused this week in practice and it paid off tonight."
Â
Schlabach scored another 24 points on Saturday night to complete an impressive 61-point week. The fifth-year senior now has 1878 points in his career and is within striking distance of becoming just third Bushnell player ever to hit the 2000-point mark.
Â
Richmond added a season-high 19 points and Johnson scored 15 off the bench including 13 in the second half.
Spencer Hoffman posted a double-double with 12 points and 14 rebounds while Smith and
Alexis Angeles each scored 11.
Â
A total of 13 players came into the game for Bushnell as they scored 36 points off the bench. This included the first career points for sophomore
Cole Tyner (pictured) who hit a three-pointer late in the contest.
Â
Warner Pacific was led by Matt Solomon with 21 points. The CCC's leading scorer had 19 in the first half. Sean Johnson added 14 points as he hit a game-high four three-pointers while Caleb Tyree-Morgan scored ten points with a team-leading seven rebounds.
Â
With the victory, Bushnell sits alone in sixth-place in the CCC, one game behind Corban in fifth and one game ahead of Eastern Oregon in seventh. Next up for the Beacons will be a trip to Washington as they take on Northwest University on Friday in Kirkland at 7:30 pm. Â
