RESULTS | CALDWELL, Idaho – The Bushnell women's cross country team was back in action on Friday as three women took part in the Cascade Collegiate Conference Preview Meet, hosted by the College of Idaho at Fairview Golf Course. All three Beacons improved on their times from their debut race.
Competing at a 4000-meter distance instead of the NAIA's official 6000-meters, the race still covered the same loop as the CCC Championship race will in November, giving the Beacons an opportunity to experience the course.
"I am very proud of the effort today," said head coach
Kyle Will. "The guys ran well. We need to work on the mental side of things with all of them. As they begin to gain confidence and trust the new training practices, then things will start to come together a little more."
Senior
Kaitlin Cook once again led the way for the Beacons. She shaved 28 seconds off of her 4000m time from Linfield a few weeks ago, coming across the finish line in 17 minutes, 13.5 seconds.
Also competing for the Beacons were
Sidney Lane (17:58.1) (pictured) and
Mariah Summers (17:58.3). Lane was almost a full minute faster than her time from Linfield while Summers cleared 25 seconds off her previous mark.
The Beacons will compete again in two weeks, running at the Charles Bowles Invitational in Salem on September 30.
