SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. – The women's 4x400 meter school record was broke and two new CCC qualifications were met as the Beacons competed at the Mike Fanelli Classic, hosted by San Francisco State.
Â
Head Coach
Tom Boldon said, "It has been four years since we have been able to come to this meet, and it was a really great meet for us. It was especially fun to run a few relay races that we don't normally see in meets."
Â
On Friday,
Adrienne Mai,
Olivia Bailon, Madeline Desemone, and
Janea Robertson took fourth place in the 4x400m race and came across the finish line in 4:04.45 seconds to set a new Bushnell standard. The previous record of 4:05.50 was set in 2016.
Â
Friday also featured a new Cascade Conference qualification for Senior
Rebecca Kuskie who finished 89th among the 163 competitors in the 1500m race. She hit another lifetime PR of 4:52.14 and cleared the CCC qualification mark by 0.59 seconds, punching her second ticket to the event (5000m).
Â
Saturday saw freshman
Janea Robertson officially add her name to the conference slate in the 400m. She finished second in her heat and broke 60 seconds for the first time, hitting 59.91 to beat the conference qualifying match by more than one second.
Â
Other Women's Track & Field Highlights:
- The 1500m featured a five-second collegiate personal best for junior Kaitlin Cook (5:20.72) while Olivia Bailon (5:05.10) came within a fourth of a second from her own lifetime best.
- A rare women's distance medley relay was included, which saw a Bushnell team of Cook, Aneykah McCall, Bailon, and Kuskie post the second-best time in school history.
Â
Bushnell will take a week off before returning to action on Portland on April 14-15 at the Lewis & Clark Invitational.
