LEWIS & CLARK OPEN RESULTS |
OREGON PREVIEW RESULTS
EUGENE, Ore./Portland, Ore. – Small, incremental improvements throughout are a hallmark of a successful track & field season and for the Beacons, that looks to be the case as week two of the outdoor season provided a vast swath of growth from week one.
Â
Three new CCC qualifications were earned as the Beacons competed at both the Lewis & Clark Open and the Oregon Preview on Saturday.
Â
Two new tickets were punched in Portland at Lewis & Clark, led off by a strong 3000m Steeplechase performance for junior
Kaitlin Cook (pictured) who took fifth-place and shaved 12 seconds off of her personal record (12:48.24). The other was
Dakota Underwood who became Bushnell's third Shot Put qualifier with a second-place finish (10.63m/34'10.25").
Â
Underwood finished behind teammate
Libby Mathis who was one of two Bushnell's event winners on the weekend with a season-best toss of 11.63 meters (38'4").
Â
Hayward Field provided the other qualification as
Sierra Janikowski punched her second ticket with a 100m Hurdle time of 16.07 seconds.
Â
Other highlights for the Beacons:
Â
Senior
Rebecca Kuskie ran a lifetime best in the 1500m at the Oregon Preview, and missed out on the CCC qualifying time by just 0.25 seconds
Charlie Huelsman made her collegiate debut for the Beacons, winning the 400m Hurdles.
Â
Bushnell returns to action next weekend, traveling to Salem to compete at the Willamette Invitational.
