COMPLETE RESULTS | SEATTLE, Wash. - The Bushnell women's track & field team competed at the Husky Classic over the weekend with three women in action. 

Janea Robertson led the way for the Beacons. On Friday, the freshman claimed a 13th-place finish in the 200m run, clocking a 26.84 second time for the fastest by a Beacon this season and the third-fastest in school history. She followed that up on Saturday by improving her own school record in the 400m, coming in at 1:00.35. Director of Track Tom Boldon said, "Janea broke the 400m record for the second straight time, and faced just one competitor this weekend. We can't wait to see what she does in a full race this spring. She is just scratching the surface of her potential so far."

Sophomore Maddii Desemone also competed in Friday's 200m, coming in at 26.91 for a personal record and the fifth-fastest time in school history. Desemone also competed in the 60m prelims on Saturday, coming in at 8.19 for another PR.

Another season-best came off the feet of Mayah Pappas, leaping 4.95 meters (16'3.00") in the long jump. 

Bushnell completes their indoor schedule and sets their sights on the beginning of the outdoor campaign on March 3 in McMinnville for the Linfield Icebreaker. "Our women's team has a chance to be impressive this year and the indoor season was just the beginning," said Boldon. "We anticipate Mayah will steadily improve all spring and, as is usually the case, will contend to place high at conference. Maddii and Janea have looked smooth and under control and will have a lot of success.
