Beacons Fall to Warriors

LEWISTON, Idaho – Bushnell faltered on both ends of the floor on Saturday, dropping a Cascade Collegiate Conference game to Lewis-Clark State College, 88-63.

The Beacons (6-5, 3-2 CCC) shot just 38% from the field including a 4-for-21 performance from three-point range and were held nearly 27 points under their season average. On the other side of the floor, the Warriors (7-4, 5-0) shot 53% and took the lead for good just six minutes into the contest.

Head Coach Eddie Alexander said, "We were challenged tonight by a great LC State team. We have a lot of work to do still on the defensive end and it is something we spend a lot of time focusing on. It is where we struggle as a team and something we have to continue to improve on if we want to achieve our goals this season."

Three players were in double-figures for Bushnell in the game, led by 18 points and eight rebounds from Spencer Hoffman. Tony Frohlich-Fair added 15 points and seven rebounds while Kaden Sand posted 13 points, six rebounds and three blocks. The Beacons were out-rebounded 45-29 in the contest.

The Warriors, who are alone in first-place in the CCC, were led by Jaedon Bradley, scoring 23 points. Davian Brown added a double-double with 16 points and a game-high 11 rebounds while Quentin Raynor came off the bench to score 14 points. The Warriors out-paced the Beacons in bench scoring, 25-7.

After eight straight road games throughout November and December, and with a much deserved holiday break on the horizon, Bushnell will return to action at home on January 5 when they are scheduled to take on The Evergreen State College (1-9, 0-4) at 7:30 pm.
