Robertson Leads Impressive Team Effort to Start Indoor Season

COMPLETE RESULTS | PORTLAND, Ore.  – The Bushnell women's track & field team got the 2023 season underway on Sunday at the University of Portland Indoor Meet.

Among those making their collegiate debuts was freshman Janea Robertson who led five Beacon finishers in the top-11 of the 400m run. Robertson took fourth place with a time of 1:03.32, the best for a Bushnell runner in three years and the fifth-fastest time in school history.

The 400m field was littered with Beacons as Adrienne Mai took fifth followed by Sarah Phillips, Sierra Janikowski, and Madii Desemone in ninth, tenth, and eleventh respectively.

Janikowski also provided the top 200m time for the Beacons, taking 15th place in the 38-runner field (28.62).

Bushnell also had a 4x400m relay team compete with Robertson, Phillips, Desemone, and Mai cracking the Bushnell all-time top-ten list with a run of 4:28.02.

Director of Track Tom Boldon said, "This was a good start to our season. I really like what I saw today and the coaching staff thinks we have some talent and depth to make some noise by the time we hit the conference meet later this spring. It is going to be fun to see what this group does."
